The history of this distinguished cattle ranch began in 1914 when Álvaro Dávila y Agreda, Marquis of Villamarta, started with cows from Murube, Urcola, and Medina Garvey, and bulls from Parladé, later incorporating cattle from the Count of Santa Coloma. After the Marquis's death, the ranch was divided, and in 1941 one of the lots, along with the original brand, went to his son, Álvaro Dávila Garvey, who had inherited it through his family. In 1972, after his death, the ranch began to be advertised under the name of his heirs. In 1980, it was acquired by the Garcibravo Limited Company, which advertised it under its own name, maintaining the same brand, earmark, colors, and seniority. In October 1996, it began to be advertised as Villamarta. In 1998, a lot of cows—purebred Villamarta—was acquired with the brand of the heirs of Manuel Álvarez.
