The history of this renowned cattle ranch began in 1842 when Juan Miura, using fighting bulls from Antonio Gil, and later another large herd of cows from José Luis Alvareda, added cattle from Jerónima Núñez de Prado in 1850 and 1852. In the 1940s, Antonio and José passed the ranch on to their son and nephew, Eduardo Miura Fernández, and the ranching tradition continued until reaching the current owners. In 2002, the ranch began operating under the name Miura.
