The history of this renowned cattle ranch began in the early 19th century when Andrés Sánchez de Terrones used cattle from various fighting bull origins. In 1862, the ranch was inherited by his son, Ildefonso Sánchez, who added cows from the Gaviria ranch and bulls from the widow of López Navarro. After his death, the ranch passed first to his widow and then to his son, Santiago Sánchez, who expanded it with cattle inherited from his father-in-law, Juan Muriel, and bulls from the Contreras ranch. In 1931, Santiago's daughters, Carlota and María Sánchez Muriel, took over the ranch. In 1975, the Martínez Uranga family acquired María's share, and in 1979, they purchased a significant number of females and bulls from Carlos Urquijo de Federico. In 1989, José Pocoví bought the cattle ranch and in 1992 sold it to Ana Melcón Gutiérrez, who, under the Pablo Vázquez brand, established the herd with Jandilla cows and bulls.
