The history of this prominent cattle ranch began in 1938, when José Enrique Calderón acquired from Salvador Domecq y Díez a residual portion of the Veragua ranch he had inherited from his father, Juan Pedro Domecq y Núñez de Villavicencio. Later, in 1949, the portion belonging to Ricardo Calderón Alcalde was sold to Salvador Algarra. In 1956, Salvador Domecq y Díez acquired the entire ranch from Salvador Algarra, eliminating the cattle from this source. In 1960, the iron design was modified.
Then in 1930, Juan Pedro Domecq y Núñez de Villavicencio purchased the Duke of Veragua ranch from Manuel Martín Alonso. Juan Pedro later expanded the ranch with cows and stallions from the Count of the Court. After the latter's death in 1937, his sons, the Domecq y Díez brothers, inherited the ranch. They eliminated some of the Veragua origin and supplemented it with cattle from the ranches of Mr. Ramón Mora-Figueroa and the Count of the Court.
Later, in 1968, Salvador Domecq y Díez separated from his brothers, Mr. Juan Pedro and Mr. Pedro, transferring his third share. From that moment on, the ranch was renamed Toros de El Torero. Since 2002, Mr. Salvador Domecq y Díez has handed over management of the ranch to his eldest daughter, Ms. Lola Domecq Sainz de Rozas.
