The history of this prominent cattle ranch dates back to 1914, when Manuel García-Aleas began basing his herd on Santa Coloma cattle, aiming to soften the loads, reduce the size of the horns, and reduce the size of his cattle. Initially, he acquired cattle from the Count of Santa Coloma in 1917, and later, primarily from Graciliano Pérez-Tabernero. Gradually, Santa Coloma cattle began to predominate, displacing the previous Jijonense breed. Manuel García-Aleas died in 1950, leaving his legacy to his son, Manuel García-Aleas Carrasco, who continued to incorporate more Santa Coloma cattle, coming from José Escobar in 1951 and from the heirs of Graciliano Pérez-Tabernero in 1954, and later, in 1977, from the heirs of Gabriel Hernández Plá (Santa Coloma-Buendía), minimizing the Jijona herd to the point of almost disappearing. The ranch's ownership changed over time until it reached its current owners.
