In 1989, he entered the "Marcial Lalanda" bullfighting school in Madrid. He wore his first suit of lights, pink and silver, in a bullfight without horses in France.
After leaving the school, he received technical assistance from Francisco Membrilla Blázquez "Pacorro," a former bullfighter and later a banderillero (assistant bullfighter).
