One Month to the Start of the Season at Las Ventas

There is just one month to go until the start of the season at Las Ventas, and March 22 is already marked on the calendar by Madrid’s fans. The bulls of Cuadri will open the Madrid campaign in a highly anticipated afternoon.

Cuadri Opens the Madrid Season

The legendary Celestino Cuadri brand, one of the most awaited ranches in Madrid, returns to Las Ventas after its appearance on Palm Sunday 2024. That afternoon left the memory of “Bagonero”, a deep-bodied, serious bull, true to the lineage and character of this breeding house.

Cuadri represents emotion and demand. Its presence at the season opener sets the tone for the year at the world’s leading bullring.

Three Names Favoured by Madrid

The bill brings together three matadors well known for this type of challenge, all with recent experience in the arena.

The Sevillian Pepe Moral returns after his performances in the livestock challenges of September 2024, where he received two ovations against bulls from Dolores Aguirre and Sobral.

Damián Castaño is one of those matadors the fans expect for his commitment. Last season he appeared twice in Madrid. In the first, also at the season opener, he suffered a serious goring from a bull by Adolfo Martín. The second came during San Isidro, facing bulls from Dolores, without a favourable outcome.

The line-up is completed by Gómez del Pilar, highly regarded in this arena. He cut an ear from a José Escolar bull at the previous San Isidro and added another trophy in September’s corrida concurso, where he also received a lap of honour.

Special Conditions for Associations and General Public

Specific conditions have been arranged for bullfighting associations and groups organising trips to attend the event. They may access season-ticket holder rates by booking through the official email provided by the venue.

Tickets for the general public are already on sale. Season-ticket holders may purchase up to four tickets at subscriber prices until 2:00 pm on the day of the event. Youths up to 25 years old will also benefit from subscriber rates.
