José María Dols Samper, is a Spanish bullfighter known professionally as José María Manzanares. He inherited this nickname from his father José María Manzanares (Father), both shared a passion for bullfighting.
Date of birth: On January 3, 1984, in the province of Alicante, Spain.
Public debut: He made his public debut in a berrecera in the municipality of Campotéjar which is a northwestern town in the region of Los Montes (Granada), with only 16 years old.
Debut as a novillero: A year after his public debut, he made his debut on 22 February 2002 in the bullring of Nimes (France).
Alternative: His alternative was on June 24, 2003 in the bullring of Alicante, his hometown. With Enrique Ponce as godfather and Francisco Rivera as a witness of this event. Cutting two ears in front of his opponent.
Confirmation of alternative: José María Manzanares (Son) had his confirmation of alternative last May 17, 2005 in the bullring of Madrid. With César Jiménez as godfather and Salvador Vega as witness.
